Al-Sharq University witnessed a significant event with the convening of the founding meeting of the Student Council of Universities in North and East Syria, attended by representatives of the Autonomous Administration, academics, and students from various universities in the region.
The meeting opened with a speech from the preparatory committee, which described the event as a “historic turning point” in organizing student activities and affirmed the Council's commitment to defending academic rights and improving the educational reality.

Hassan Kojer, Deputy Co-chair of the Executive Council, who affirmed the full support of the Autonomous Administration for the establishment of the Council and considered it a step towards strengthening democratic institutions.
Samira Dawood, Co-chair of the Board of Education, who highlighted the challenges faced by the education sector since 2015 and emphasized the importance of the Council's role in developing higher education.
Media Hamsho, Co-chair of the Universities Council, who stressed the importance of cooperation between university administrations and students to support academic excellence.
