The Institute for Graduate Studies in Social Sciences

The institute began opening a master's program in the Department of Kurdish Language and Literature in 2022 , as a result

of the need of the universities of northern and eastern Syria and the education sector for academic cadres and researchers

specialized in Kurdish linguistic and literary sciences.

Objectives:

1- Preparing cadres and researchers with an academic level.

2- Keeping the student abreast of developments in Kurdish and general linguistic and literary sciences in order to achieve comprehensive quality.

3- Preparing cadres capable of analyzing and developing the various curricula in line with the education philosophy in the region.

4- Preparing researchers capable of conducting research, identifying educational curricula problems and proposing solutions.

5- Providing the possibility of developing sub-specialties.

Courses :

Courses vary between linguistic sciences such as phonetics, morphology, grammar, lexicons, Kurdish literature such as

classical literature, modern literature, comparative literature, literary criticism, Kurdish dialects such as Sorani and Zazaki,

scientific research methodology and foreign language.

- Literature, 3 semesters and a thesis
